I have something that has gone from 25,400 to 30,439

What is the % increase?

I am absolutly clueless when it comes to percentages.

Difference divided by original times 100

Or differnce/original x100

Simple way of doing it:

Difference divided by original times 100

Or differnce/original x100

or

((new/old x 100) - 100)%

(a negative means you just got a pay cut)
