For the 14th Golf Monthly Forum Help for Heroes Charity Golf day we are returning to the stunning Hankley Common Golf Club. The Club is ten minutes from Farnham in Surrey and the date is Wednesday 30th August. www.hankley.co.uk
Hankley Common is ranked 32nd in Golf Monthly Top 100 UK courses, and is comfortably the highest ranked course we will have played
Hankley Common have given us an excellent deal to play their heathland course, in the summer, when the heather will be in full blloom. A society day is normally £169, but we have been given the following deal :
£110, to include coffee and bacon rolls, 18 Holes individual stableford and a two course carvery lunch.
There will be a shotgun start at 09.00, which should ensure an early finish The total number of players we can have is 80, though we may be able to squeeze a few more in nearer the time.
The donation to the H4H charity will be £25 again this year, so the total cost will be £135. I will set up the charity JustGiving site shortly. In the meantime, put your names down on this thread if you would like to play.
To speed up registration, I will collect monies due to the Club, £110, in three payments. £20 immediately as I need to pay a deposit to the club, £45 by the end of April and £45 by the end of July. Please note these payments will be made to me and not to the JustGiving site. Please keep an eye out on the forum for details of how to make these payments which will be posted shortly. Those that played last year should already have my bank details, but anyone that doesn't will just need to send me a pm.
If you have to pull out after making payments to me, you will receive a refund as long as cancellation is not within the last week or so leading up to the event. Please note that donations made to the justgiving site cannot be refunded in any circumstances.
Initially places will be allocated to forumers and to one guest, but I anticipate more guests will be able to book places nearer the time. Hankley Common are fairly flexible on numbers so we will try and squeeze everyone in that wants to play the day.
Hopefully another forumer will arrange a game on Tuesday 29th August. Let me know by pm if you would like to do this. It is worth noting that Monday 28th August is a bank holiday, so those travelling long distance could make a decent break of it and only need two days holiday. There are plenty of top courses within a ten mile radius of Hankley. There is a Premier Inn in Farnham, as well as other accommodation in the Farnham area.
I know quite a few forumers that have played in the Help For Heroes charity day only come on the forum infrequently, so if you are in touch with any that you think would like to play, please contact them and direct them to this post.
If you have any queries regarding the day, please ask on this thread or drop me a pm.
Rich.
