Help 4 Heroes 18th August 2025 Blackmoor Golf Club

Actually, I must apologise to the group on whichever tee box it was that had my drive to one of the long par 3's roll off the banking down onto their tee.
Sorry lads, I honestly didn't know it was there. I should have shouted 4 anyways.
That was our group, not to worry as we saw it coming the whole way, it was very funny 😂

Just to echo what has already been said but I had a fantastic day, a huge thank you to @richart and everyone else involved in organising, it's hard enough sorting out a 4 ball, let alone dealing with 80+ people!

Very much enjoyed the company of @YandaB @GG26 and @Beezerk

Was nice to be back playing after 4 weeks and even better to play well and it was a nice suprise this morning to see a PCC of 2 😁

Well done to @SwingsitlikeHogan for the win!

Some pics from the day, just in case anyone is interested

In case anyone from Golf Monthly is reading this, I'd love to see the photos when they are available. The photographer said it was a very quick turnaround from him to GM, and then it's up to the GM staff to determine what they do with the images.

I asked the same question last time and as far as I'm aware, they were never made available apart from the few that appeared on the website article. So if anyone has those as well, please share them :)
He got to 8th Tee just in time for his shutter to capture my block/push/slice/power fade into oblivion, followed by the now famous Provisional straight down the middle :ROFLMAO:

Great day, as ever for a wondereful cause. Blackmoor has improved since i first played it 8/9 years ago & is well deserving of it's place in Top 100. Rich is a lucky so & so being a member there. Thanks to him & Vicky for there hard work & to Karen for her stoic duties kissing the sweaty golfers. Same time, different place next year?

I holed a 10-footer for a par save while he was with our group and celebrated by pointing right down the lens - he said something along the lines of, "has he been doing that even when I've not been here? That would be weird" 😂

Every provisional was straight down the middle that day

Just about all monies have been added to my justgiving site, and the final total should be £8,000 including gift aid.

Thanks to everyone that supported the charity day, and to those that played and took the time to leave some nice comments. Hopefully a few renewed friendships, and some new ones as well.

The course proved you do not have to be long to be difficuly. No one broke their full course handicap.

I will speak to GM about the photos taken on the day, and see if they are going to publish them on their website.

Nice amount Rich, given the economic climate

What is the actual total amount the forum has raised over the years?

I know it’s around £190,000
👍
Close, should be just over 188,000.

Did anyone leave a red Ping XL jumper at the halfway hut ? If you did pm me with address and I will post to you (Small donation to H4H of course!!)

Great work Richard. Well done to you & the team 👏

Just to confirm the full amount raised from the day at Blackmoor including gift aid was £8008.75. Our running total is just under £190,000. Not too shabby. :)

Thanks to everyone that supported the day, very much appreciated.(y)

Due to personal circumstances including arranging our daughters wedding next September, Vicky and myself wil not be able to arrange next years event.:( We are hoping that a forummer or two will volunteer to take the day over, perhaps playing in a different part of the country? We will happily pass on details of all our contacts to help the day run smoothly.

If you would like to get involved please drop me a pm. It would be great to get the running total through the £200,000 barrier.(y)

Hi everyone,

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who has contributed to this event over the past 15 years. Together, you’ve achieved something incredible - raising £190,000! That’s no small accomplishment, and we’re truly grateful for your continued commitment to fundraising and supporting veterans.

Rich has done a fantastic job leading the way for the past nearly 10 years, and it would be wonderful to see someone step up and carry that baton next year.

If there’s anything I can do to help make that happen, please don’t hesitate to get in touch - I’m here to support you.

Kind regards

John
