Tiger Woods ?

Thats him heading for the mid thirties now. He's not had a good year in the Majors. Granted he has been good in the varoius Tour events he has played in, but he seems to have cut back his schedule to the bare minimum.

Do you think we have seen the best of him ?

I think we may have seen him play his most flamboyant/attacking golf but he isn't the best in the word for no reason. I'm sure he'll bounce back from this year and give us plenty of great golf in the future. He may just have to adjust some more!

He was never going to retain the 54-hole Major lead just like Roger Federer was never going to win every Wimbledon title. I believe we've seen the first signs of Woods doubting himself but, at 33, he's not going anywhere. Five victories in one season is still enough to put him streets ahead of his rivals, but the Majors didn't work out and just maybe he's feeling a bit of pressure as he chases Jack Nicklaus. Best golf over? No, I think not.

I think Seve's turning point was 1986 with the miss at Augusta into the lake which let Nicklaus win (I maybe wrong), but I remember it was the first time he ever doubted himself and wasnt really the same since, but personal issues like TW has been through aswell.

Regardless of whether we hate his guts or want to kiss his butt the OP is asking Have we seen the best of him? Personally I think we have. Saying that I still think he will overhaul Jack's record but not as easily as it seemed a few years ago.
I don't think he is as dominant as he was, whether that's down to the injury its hard to say but if he keeps putting himself in positions to win the Majors then he will get the 5 he needs.
He is still the best golfer in the world and just because he hasn't won a Major this year doesn't make him a failure. It will only galvanise him into winning the ones he needs.
And he's cut back on his schedule because he's fully focussing on the Majors. He doesn't need to play the Greater Greensboro Open or whatever, he doesn't need the money or the ranking points these events give him. He can focus on the Big 4, the WGC's and the bigger tournaments like HSBC and others in USA.
He will continue to be No 1 for a long time and he will beat Jack's record. But I think his best is behind him. But its still better than everyone elses!!

To answer the OP's question - NO. He'll continue to improve and look for ways to swing on the damaged knee to control his driving which is still too erratic at times. I think with a reduced schedule he'll be fresh each time out and now that his pride has been wounded he'll be even more up for a fight.

That said he'll not be the dominant force anymore as the final veneer of invincibility has been taken away but he'll still be the man to beat most weeks. I think he'll eventually get to the record of Nicklaus but I can only see him perhaps winning one major every other year now. I think as a mid-thirties golfer he probably has 5 or so years left at his absolute top level so it'll be an interesting time watching what he does

I believe we have seen the best of him.
My wish is that the commentators would stop putting this man on such a pedestal. You would have thought that by the age of 33 he would have given up the habit of spitting and throwing his clubs. Fine the man some of his prize money. After all he is supposed to be there to draw the crowds. We don't want to see this immature behaviour being copied by our younger generation.

Yes we have but that was in 2000 anyway, so it's been an age since we've had the best of him. He will never be as good as he was in 2000. Simple.

That sounds about right to me too. Tiger talks the talk as he always did as its part of his robotic psychological training to show no weakness but for us outsiders looking in, he's not the player he was circa 2000. He's still bloody good though! :)

I do think he'll bag a few majors yet.

If you watch the Seve Dvd he says as much, his dad was diagnosed with cancer the previous year, and Seve told him he would survive and be at the Masters to see him win and dedicate it to his Dad. His dad died before the masters and he felt he let his father down by not winning it.
