Harrington and Fisher

Just wondering whats peoples views as regards these 2 chaps....
I know that its not over yet but i think that monty's choice in Paddy has been justified so far....
They really bounced off each other today and Ross seemed to feel very confident around Paddy especially on the greens.

Agree that although Paddy didn't have the best of days himself he seemed to have a really good influence on Fisher. I think that's what Monty meant when he talked about Paddy's "stature". Nice to have a 3 time major winner at your side in your first RC.

Having said that'll I'll be honest and say that I'd have picked Casey had it been me. Hope he does even better tomorrow and proves me even more wrong.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow how well Padraig is playing.
I'm not surprised a young gun played well alongside him; he's clearly one off the top dogs in the euro team experience-wise and must surely help the less inexperienced in a situation like the R.C.

I do hope he shows his true hand tomorrow as Ross will not be there to get him up to the pin.

At times Fisher must have felt like he was taking on the American pair single handedly .....despite Padraigs influence on the greens.

Ross has become one of my fave players in the European team as he's emerged over the last couple of years.

I would have to agree, harrington helped to line up Fishers putts but apart from that was he was carried all day by Fisher.

Unfortunately both of them look like they're blowing it today. Harrington 4 down after 11 and Fisher on the verge of going 3 down with 3 to play.

Harrington should never ever have been a pick,the guy is a total chopper and a liability to the team,if Monty had chosen Casey this would have been all over by now.

Sorry but what a load of Tosh. OK he might have lost today but then again so did the world No 2 and he did enough I think over the course of it to warrant his selection. I agree that I don't think he should have gone as far as he did with the swing changes but his performances over the next 12 months will show whether he was right (a la Faldo) or whether he has ruined the winning technique for good. Definitely worth the pick

Harrington was carried by Fisher and crumbled on his own. He was the worst player out there by some distance imo.

Casey is a matchplay genius and simply a better player than Harrington. Nothing more then Montgomerie's stubborn nature saw Harrington picked ahead of him.

Can't agree with that Homer. Harrington has been poor from the start. Fisher probably lost today theough being exhasted after carrying Harrington yesterday Time after time he left Fisher on his own. As for helping with his putts, I would kind of expect more from a 3 time major champion than reading a few putts. Caddies read putts, golfers make them. Say what you like about Casey, Europe would have been better off with him than Harrington. But then Europe would have been better off with a lot of players than Harrington.

Been dissapointed with Kaymer as well, I was expecting a lot more from him.

I cant believe this is being debated....he should never have been picked and has been rubbish. He's a fool for changing his swing when he did - only trying to hit it longer...

Rose would have been my pick i think.
