Handicap hard cap question

below are all the differentials of last 8 green cards within 20.

Total = 138.8

Divide by 8

= 17.35



Current handicap index seems to be capped at 16.2



12.1 lowest differential within last 12 months



If the highest you can go up is 5.0 would that cap it at 17.1 instead of 16.2 ?

It's 5 on your Index not the score differentials

You need to understand soft cap as well.

Once you have gone up by 3 every increase is halved - if the plain maths say you increase one 1 you will actually increase by 0.5.

Is there not both? Normal increase up to +3 above low index, then (effectively) 0.5 increase up to 5 above low index - at which point it doesn’t go up (within the 12 months)

Just log on to the actual EG website and find out the low index and you can work out the soft cap and hard cap from there

Although the Soft/Hard Cap report on WHS shows both if you are on Hard Cap, in reality you can only be on Hard Cap, Soft Cap or no Cap.
