Growing your own green

...
Nature and a mower....

How often does the mower get used though?

And how much maintenance of it is there - keeping it sharp/at the right setting.

And don't forget how much more expensive such mowers are in the first place. There's a 5-6 year old one (described as the industry's most popular model) on ebay for £2850 + VAT! an several older ones at £950 + VAT. Fortunately, the occasional really old one at around £200 - but certainly higher priced than equivalent 'standard' mowers!

The general consensus seems to be that it's not worth paying for an artificial and growing your own is out of the equation, I'll stay away from it ;P

It is worth paying for a good quality artificial one, if you have ever used one you would know. Roger Dunn golf store has one installed inside and it really feels like a top quality green.

I would agree. i spent a small fortune trying to get a surface good enough to put on.. it is a lot of effort and you would need to start from scratch.

i would get artificial.
