anyone heard of this guy before? I've seen some of his stuff on YouTube and looks good. anyone had any lessons with him?

Yup, specialises in short game I believe, I had a great bunker lesson from him, cured my ills in one go. Based at Sutton Green. I can highly recommend him.

I have had a lesson with Gary Smith at Sutton Green with Gary to go over the short game using the linear method. Great guy and another thumbs up from me. I'm due a revisit to touch up on pitching and chipping. Funny enough I was there with two mates (both infrequent players) and while I was waiting I mooched into the pro shop. He was there, remembered me and asked how I was going. Said I was struggling a tad on chipping and he whisked me onto the fringe of the putting green for a five minute refresher, no charge!

yes I tried him and it was possibly the worst golf lesson I've ever had. all he wanted to do was sell more lessons. After his initial lesson he charges about £200 an hour and something like £1800 for two months. he didn't listen to anything I had to say and left my golf swing in ruins after the initial 10 week plan he put together.
you send him videos during the 10 weeks. I would explain that I'm struggling and not achieving the positions he wanted and all he did was reply "keep practicing it will come"
It did not!!!!
after the 10 weeks I didn't get any contact from him and I had to rebuild my swing by myself

Wow. Thanks for the heads-up! Sounds like an expensive and frustrating experience. We are talking about the same one based in Sutton Coldfield?
I had been giving a close look at his material, but was getting a bit wary of the low number of followers or reviews, compared to him coming up on the first page of google and the claim to be the "best coach in the UK".

yeh. at Aston wood. personally I'd go and see Liam at dearnford Moors Lichfield. he has been mentored by Rob rock and has taken some very good golfers off some well known you tube golf coaches

Thanks for the tip. Im looking into distance/video coaching though as I travel a lot. Just really researching the topic as not sure if it would work for golf.
