Ridges, holes, sand all over the greens today.
Impossible to putt on them.

Still only took 33 putts and came in with a 74 gross (par 70)
Another level par back 9 to go with a level handicap front.

Why couldn't I do that at Hanbury last week.........
75% fairways
61% GIR
1.82 putts/GIR
18% birdie conversion

Ahh...
Sometimes things just go right don't they.... :D

Maintainance. That's what it is. I thought they had deliberately gone out of their way to totally ruin the greens to make the medal more difficult. But no, it's maintainance.

Oddly, when I maintain something, I don't normally make it worse.

We have had ours done about 6 times since November. I can't see why they will stop doing it any time soon. They seem to like doing it, and now the suns coming out it must be quite a pleasant job. Every time they start to look good, out comes the machinery again.

They have been a mess all year so far, with about one week of being fantastic. Then out comes the machinery again. hopefully they have done it for the last time til autumn, but I'm not holding my breath.

i feel your pain. i played on tuesday night at one of my locals ive shortlisted for membership,

bunkers - medium to good
Fairways - nice definition and good nick
fringes - mint
greens, overgrown, bumpy and just been cored.

Played out of my socks with atleast 50% GIR, more like 65%, just couldnt putt as things were bouncing all over the place. cant see why their coring now. Will be going back in a fortnight to see if they are any better.

Coring, hollow tining, micro tining, slashing, dressing, yep, it all needs to be done. Our greens were superb last year, and hopefully will be again this year. We just seem to have more than our fair share of it.
