Grand National tips / fancies

My 5 bets are Sir Des Champs 20/1 , Silviniaco Conti 12/1, Buy Wise 50/1, Boston Bob 33/1, Morning assembly 22/1.
All £2 each way , Bet365 returned 50%, so total cost was £10, now fingers crossed:whoo:

Thanks Fundy

Listening to the guys on 5 live tonight they reckon this is prob the most even National for years with so many horses in with a short - prob only 2 or 3 you could just ignore - the rest all have value

very doubtful in the national Phil, the amount gambled by the nation makes 'value' in this race almost null

My pin has found the following:

Many Clouds
Silviniaco Conti
Morning Assembly
Kruhzlinin

After the National has been run the documentary 'Dark Horse' is being shown in More 4 at 6.35pm. Its a great story and well worth watching (only slightly biased as I was one of the syndicate who owned Dream Alliance - he ran in the 2010 Grand National).

up until about 5 years ago based on trends you could rule out over half the field based on various common criteria each winner had.

however, in recent years a French bred horse has won (very rare), a few carrying over 11st (rare again) have skewed these stats.

add to that the compression of the allocated weights means that very few runners run off bottom weight of 10st or out of the HCP, meaning it is getting harder to pick the winner (i know that sounds ridiculous in a 40 runner field)

for what its worth i think the winner will come from the following

The druids nephew
Saint Are
Goonyella
Soll
On his own
Just a par
Rocky creek
Maggio

as i say though, a lot of usual GN trends have been broken in recent years, so this poster accepts no responsibility if any of the above don't win, don't place, don't finish or end up in your microwave lasagne :D

Its got to be Just A Par for me

just won the race prior to the National at 50/1 :D

never had a penny on it

Bet365, half your stake back, 5 horses 50p EW, Rule The World at 50/1 £32.25 returned, plus £2.00 stake returned😃

Missis T was giving me a running commentary whilst I was at the city game. The guy at the side of me was watching a computer version of the race on his phone ( bet 365 I think ) anyway me an him were goin mad coz our two horses were neck and neck.
Missis T then screams rule the world has won. We thought she was messing about coz it was not even on the screen. A minute later the results came up and we were both gobsmacked.

just collected me tenner.
