got beat 4 & 3. but heh ho nobody died. really enjoyed it though. havent played in comps for 15 years. could do a tiger and say my neck was sore

I got knoocked out in the club summer singles by the same score. Mind you he was only 3 over gross after we shook hands and had had four birdies so I wasn't too upset. Its nice to have a good run in these sort of thing but if it ain't your day what can you do

Looking forward to the first round of this years singles knockout soon. Got beaten 8&6 last year, and it should have been 10&8 My opponent went out in 1 over par gross off a handicap of 13.....bandito.

I got beat in our matchplay comp 4&3 early april though it was my 1t ever comp i learnt quite a bit about playing the format.

Don't get too down hearted about it, i'm sure you'll bounce back next time round.

I played a first round singles tie earlier this evening and was 4 down after 5 holes. Just couldn't get off the tee! What made it worse was that I was being given 11 strokes and the first four holes I lost I was stroking on! However, managed to drag it back to all square after 15 holes and won it on the 18th green! I shot 5 over par for the back 9!!

It ain't over till it's over!

I won my first ever MP game on Monday, 8&6. In fairness, I just played solid, maybe 1 or 2 under hcap, and my opponent had a mare, and I was 8 up after 8 holes. Lost a couple of chances for AS on 9 and 10 with lipped out putts, but then won the next two for the victory.

I'm under no illusions that every one will be that straightforward!!
