Threads like this crack me up, it's a excuse to come up with all the lazy anti American cliches. Head injury in sport, American sport especially, is a hot topic. It's a mechanism in lawsuit avoidance.

It's not done as a knee jerk reaction, it's been a decision made backed up by medical evidence.

And to draw a comparison with gun crime is quiet frankly, mental.
Seeing as you don't know me or my circumstance how do you know it's a lazy anti American cliche, not bothered if you agree, however, You've actually backed up my point why it's quite frankly mental, they have done studies proved it's bad and done something to try and prevent injury, totally get it. But how many kids are shot and killed each year and study after study proves it, but because of the gun lobby they have done nothing about it,
If they really want to protect kids in USA what would you say is most important, heading the ball or changing gun laws?

It's not an either or. Guns are bad, ban them. Heading medically proven to contribute to head injury, manage it, age appropriately.

It's misguided to think because one is allowed therefore the other should be, they are not connected. Different ruling bodies hold sway. If the USFA legislated for gun control it would be relevant....they don't:o

Lazy, cliched rubbish.

The facts are if they had the will to sort out gun control they would, it's a political issue. But thanks again for the second insult.

You do realise that the us government & the us soccer federation are different organisations??

I may be wrong but the soccer bods have no power to amend the American constitution, to my knowledge.

Of course I do, and as posted I understand why they have brought it in, but if the study was so conclusive why haven't FIFA brought it in worldwide?
The cynic in me says as a Nation it's more about law-suits, my comparing it to haggis and kindereggs was, at times they have no problem bringing rules/legislation in quite quickly in the interest of protecting health and can seem unjustified to an outsider. However, with the amount of children killed by Guns they seem hesitant to take any real action.

As has been said, the balls they play with today are not as they used to be. My grandson (13...striker) had a shot in a game from a good 25 yards out. The ball was still rising 10 yards over the top of the goal !!!!!!

He should play for Chelsea then, they can't score either.

No good for Arsenal. A shot, from 25 yards? Not the Arsenal way. Another 25 passes, that's what you need!
