Golfing Superstitions

Anyone have any superstitions on a golf course?

I have a couple.

At the start of each round I have to have 8 long tees and 4 short tees in my pocket (If I'm only playing 9 holes, it has to be 4 long and 2 short. It doesn't have to stay that way, it's just the way it has to be when I hit my 1st shot. I also have to have a ball marker and a pitch mark repairer.

The 2nd is if I'm going through a good run of holes and happen to be wearing a jumper or waterproof jacket, I won't take it off no matter how warm it gets for fear of in someway upsetting my swing balance. It's ridiculous I know but I won't take it off until I hit a bad shot.

What are yours?

I always carry a spare ball in my left hand pocket as a "frightener" so that I don't have to walk back to my bag if I have to hit a provisional.
It's also handy if you can't find your ball and your playing partners are out of sight because you can drop another one down without them seeing.

Absolutely none whatsoever. I'm so badly organised I'd never have time to think of a superstition!

2 Short and 1 long tee in my right hand side pocket, a ball marker(American quarter) and pitch repair marker in my left hand side pocket. If im playing well ill take an even number of mouthfuls of juice or water but if im playing bad then its odd . I know its weird but im sticking with it

Always carry my bag, I have this recurring nightmare that I bought a powered caddy and found myself out in the wilderness that is my golf course and having to resort to carrying my bag anyway.

I don't particularly like playing a number 3 ball, and certainly not in a comp.

Don't know why but it's probably related to some massive blow up in the dim and distant past.

Although I'm capable of massive blow ups with any number of ball.

The only one that I have is, I always tee my ball up so I cant see any markings on it. Just for drives, putting is different I always aim the name/logo towards the hole.....

If I wear a particular "outfit" and don't play well, I tend not to wear it anymore.

I stopped using Titleist balls with '8' on them after .. yip .. taking 8 o a par 3.


Also avoid pink tees coz I play like a wumin.


Don't wear shorts coz I play like a fat American tourist. I have never had a good round with shorts on.
