Golfer Girl, Bikini Golf etc etc

I hate that stuff like this exists.

I think it's too simplistic to just say that "the women are ok with it so no problem". But I also think it's too simplistic to say that they shouldn't do it.

It's one thing to hire them for a stag day or some such. However, if my work organised a corporate golf day and paid for scantily clad women (or men, lol) to participate, I'd be pretty unhappy about it.

Why would you be unhappy about it? What is so awful that scantily clad women or men are also participating?

Really this would be something I would love however lets be honest, playing golf fully clothed with a woman who is wearing next to nothing? I would be cringing my way around the course.

There is obviously a market for this type of thing otherwise they would not be doing it. Personally I think its something the game does not need and struggle to see the benefits.

Just find it a bit uncomfortable and I am more impressed by the way the ladies played the game rather than what they are wearing.

At a work event, I'd consider it inappropriate and I'd be unhappy about it.

Oh and the "lol" after men was because that wouldn't actually happen, would it?

I still don't get what is inappropriate about it. It's not like they're showing nipples or completely naked. You're not tipping them to dance or drape themselves over you.

We're all scantily clad under our clothes.

Ok so what is the purpose of it ?

Just curious ?

What's the purpose of anything? Why do some corporate days invite ex sportsmen or TV stars to come and play or give a talk? Simply because it generates interest in the event from some people. They would provide a talking point and provide something memorable that would help generate interest for future events. The company providing the girls (or men!) would make money of course as would the event that would benefit from them being there. Setting aside the base instinct that I assume they would probably be nice to look at, which is always good and the golfer girls may actually show you a thing or two regarding golf if they are good, which they claim to be.

Will agree to disagree with ya on it as its purely an opinion based answer on this one, so no one is right or wrong ,

IMO If it takes bikini clad women for the talking point or the memorable point of the day , then the rest on offer must be pretty poor , couldnt they be nice to look at & show you a thing or 2 in conventional golf gear ? they could use all one branded gear aswell & make money of them ie Cobra Ping etc ..

Ex Sports stars or TV are at least personalities (loose use of the term in some cases) were famous/well known for some talent .. IMO if i played golf or got photo opportunity with a touring pro or ex pro id be more chuffed ha ,Im playing with Christy Snr again this year & as a golfer id rather that than playing with an ok bikini clad model

Dont get me wrong i wouldnt complain about it if i was there , im sure its a success , to me its just a bit (i dunno) demeaning !

No pun intended, but horses for courses. Just because it isn't your bag or something that you may not enjoy as much as say being joined by an ex pro that perhaps hardly anyone has heard of doesn't mean there are other people out there who wouldn't find a bikini clad woman carrying their clubs or playing a round with them more of an enjoyment. I just fail to see what is inappropriate or demeaning about it. As long as it was advertised in advance as happening so people who were perhaps of a little more modest disposition were able to avoid the event I see no harm in it at all. We're all grown ups.

I still do not know where I stand on this. And I kind of ask myself would I be happy if my daughter decided she wanted to do this one day.

Part of me thinks that if the company is founded/run by women, they are paying everyone properly, they feel safe at all times and the women who are doing this are fully aware that once their looks go they will probably get replaced and they are being employed as much on their looks than their golfing ability, then if they want to make money out of men (hey, and may be some women as well, but let's be honest, it will be men) by doing this then so be it. I am imagining that they have practiced quite a bit to get to this standard of golf, they realise they are not good enough to make a living out of playing golf on the tours but have seen a a niche in the market where they can use their golfing prowess to make a living, or even if it is to pay their way through collage or university. So why not go for it.

But on the other hand if the company is run by men and kind of using attractive women to make money then I'm not so sure. And as someone else has pointed out, I'm not actually sure how I'd feel if I was actually playing next to the bikini clad ones. Probably very awkward. May be the golfer girls ones who have 'proper' clothes on would be better. But even then, whilst I am happy to suspend belief for a few minutes when an attractive lady speaks to me that she may be actually interested in what I have to say, I'm sure that pretty soon into a 4 hour round I'd quickly come to the realisation that it is a bit silly and just an act.

Had the old eye candy caddies at a corporate event once. Certainly made the day more memorable having a good looking doris in tow and it is a golf day that is still discussed with the lads many years after the event

Agreed... Couldnt disagree with any of that

This is down to personal opinion so neither sides can be wrong , i dont see the link or relevance or need for the caddy to be in a bikini (not for a second saying i wouldnt look or like ) i just think its OTT .. but thats just me

It's inappropriate for work events. You might not have the same element of choice about attending and not everyone will be comfortable with it.

Well I disagree. We're not talking about prostitutes and drugs. It's no different than having the cast of the Lion King carrying your clubs or playing with you. And of course you have an element of choice about attending a corporate golf day. If your work have that much power over events you can or cannot attend then you work for the wrong company. Unless perhaps you work for the KGB.

That is your right. The rest of your post is nonsense.
