Hi guys
sorry if this has already been covered but can anyone recommend ipod apps that manage golf stats (FIR,GIR etc.)

golfshot does it but its 17.99

I used it today for 1st time and it was spot on with distances, quick to refresh, easy to input data on way to next tee

heres my page, see if the stats it provides is what your after

http://golfshot.com/Rounds/Detail/69-3838072-3838155

from what I can tell it adds it up over your round history and you can filter by course, dates etc or show total stats overall on a different link

I also used mycaddie pro before but found it a bit slow to update the gps signal/distances and a pain to input score as it was quite fiddly

am sure others will have their faves

ahhh, I got the gps one. I am a tight northerner and aint got 1 paid for app on my iphone but have to say I found it great today and until I play comps etc (and need a dedicated golf gps due to rules) this will be 17.99 well spent :)

My caddie pro. Covers gir, fir, sand saves, up and down saves and putts. It stores 200 rounds and allows you to run reports from last 5, 10, 15, 20 rounds and the best bit - It's FREE !

Golfshot is free it's the gps version that that's £17.99, it records all FIR & GIR etc putts and all that. Link it up with golfplan which is currently 59p and it then analyses those stats and with Paul azinger then recommends what part of your game to work on with videos and drills.

G1BB0, how did you get on with Golfshot GPS? I think its a cracking app for the price, I'm like you and don't like paying for apps!

I've got a golf caddy lite, but i have to pay £40 for membership! As I have GS GPS I am not going to do it yet!

If you buy the Golfplan app (about £3/£4)and you've got the Golfshot app (I've got gps version so don't know if it'lkl work with free version) it automatcially provides stats telling you where you are weak or strong (and then provides a weekly training plan).

I do all the stats I want to record on my scorecard - Fairway hits, (detailing where i've missed it), GIRs and Number of Putts.

I then smack it into the Golfshot app for Mac - it tells me what I need to know!

Driving - needs work
Irons - need work
Putting - needs work!!

The first round I started doing it on the course was my best ever round too, not sure if that was because I was concentrating much harder than normal or what, it did seem ironic though.
