Golf shoes at Aldi Thursday 11th June

My biggest fear with the cheap golf shoes is comfort. You walk 5 miles or so every time you play golf. I'd much rather invest in a more expensive pair of shoes, that I have the confidence in will be a lot more comfortable than a £20 pair. Been burnt a few times with cheaper shoes
 
It's the words "water resistant" that would worry me....
Tissue paper is water resistant for about 2 seconds........

The quality can't be good for 20 quid, it just can't....and how's much are the manufacturers making on each pair..? About a quid..?
The spikes look worthless and I bet the shoes won't last 5 minutes...

Agreed! I also think they look cheaply made. As for some people saying buy them and they will last for the summer. Might as well buy some that will last for the year, or a couple years for an extra £20/£30. Plenty of 'last season' stock at cut prices which means you don't need to take a punt on the Audi version!

I call it being sensible, opposed to being a snob!!

Can understand that, But and its a massive but. I have a pair of adicross and they are agony to wear. But have a pair of Adidas dimples and are divine.

Like most things in golf, just because someone uses a piece of kit and finds it goes straight/is comfortable/stops slices etc etc doesn't mean someone else will. But certainly for shoes I pretty much know which ones fit me well, and whether they have been comfortable in the past .... picking up a unknown brand compared to something that I know well is just not going to happen when they are same price.

Now if all other shoes were always £120 and these were the only pair for £20 then there's a better chance of success for them .... but as I generally buy my shoes when they go on sale it's unlikely these will ever compete for me.

This. When I buy FJ I know they will fit me straight from the box and I can take them straight on the course without issues. I'm reticent about cheaper models and how well they break in

You know what, I could of wrote that, with a few commas and full stops in the wrong places. When it comes to shoes, men do not have the same mentality as women when it comes to comfort and shoes. Especially when walking four miles in them
