Just seen an advert on the TV for Aldi and they are promoting their fathers day gifts that go on sale tomorrow (11th June)

Included are some spikeless golf shoes that actually don't look too bad, and they are only 20 quid!

Also have an umbrella for sale and some "premium golf balls"

Heres the link:

Might be worth a punt at that price, just a heads up incase anyones after some new shoes.

I have two pairs of adicross II shoes, one pair was £25, the other £20 brand new. I have no idea whether the Aldi ones are any good or not, but I think I'd prefer the Adidas brand than whoever has built the Aldi version.

Exactly what I was going to say. I have three pairs of Adidas shoes. That feel great and look great. I wouldn't go near the Aldi ones for the same money.

Nice design and real leather. Would certainly be willing to take a punt if I had Aldi near me. I've had trainers from Lidl before and they were great.

This is where the golf snobbery shows its face, if these shoes had a more well known associated golf brand on them and were described as a combination leather golf shoe with rubber outer sole, Water resistant and Removable in-sock and were priced around £10-£15 MORE, I'm positive they'd be a few on here buy and try them, but just because they are associated with Aldi everyone assumes they must be crap!

For me its golf snobbery as its highest, there will be some that just like Jesus said, there will be so many deny knowledge of him and in the same vain I doubt anyone would stand on the 1st tee and when asked "where did you get those nice looking new shoes", they'd say Aldi

I've been given through my wife by a nice old gent who has his bloods done with her and knows I like my golf, a nice new leather golf glove, its extremely well made, very comfortable and fits perfectly, it doesn't have any fancy brand name on it and when I looked it up and found it was an Aldi brand, its a fraction of the price I normally pay and if it last as well and performs OK, I will be happy to shout from the rooftops that I buy my gloves from Aldi, why shouldn't I, unless I'm a golf snob!

So nobody bought them via my till today! Had a quick sneaky look/feel of them though. They seem fairly light which is good. They would suffice for summer golf I think, but the spikes (spikeless non removable spikes), are quite bendy and small so wouldn't recommend for anything after heavy rain/winter golf. Aside from that they look ok.

To be fair Robin, you could also buy your irons from Sports Direct for £100!

Bought a pair today, for £20 they are a really good buy and probably stack up against some of the more well known brands which are 2 or 3 times the price, much like the set of irons I carry in my bag...........the saying is you get what you pay for but when you can get a set of MD irons for £140 new, which play just as well as a set of leading brands then I don't see why a pair of 20 quid shoes for the summer months cant do the same.....Footjoy shoes will NOT make me a better player, neither will the latest set of over priced Taylor made irons !!

I hear you brother

No snob factor for me ... if these and a pair of Adidas Adicross are next to one another at the same price then I can't see how I can be a snob for choosing the Adidas. Just makes sense for me to choosing something that I know is comfortable.

I saw the golf balls earlier whilst I was in my local Aldi. They were a mix of all sorts - saw a few Titleist's/Nike's in the box I picked up, and were probably A/B grade quality. Defo worth a punt if your just getting started and not too fussed about what ball you put down and play!
