Golf in Oz

I'm an 8 handicapper backpacking round the world and foolishly didn't have the foresight to pack my clubs, or indeed my golf shoes! Now 6 months into my trip I'm golfsick especially having been watching highlights of the excellent Open that's just passed.

Does anyone happen to know of any half decent golf courses in or around Sydney where I can hire clubs and shoes, while also taking a not-too-strict approach to their dress code??

It's been a shame to overlook some of the finer local courses due to their lack of leniency given my situation!

There is a course on north Bondi just above the Beach that rented me clubs and the dress code was not strict. there is also a course in randwick but i never played it.
by the way I'm going back to 1999/2000 when I was there so things may have changed
