Hi, anyone any experience of using a golf specific fitness instructor, TPI certified? I'm thinking it may benefit general health as well as golf, just wondering if anyone has experience and also who they used?

thanks all,

I've used one. Firstly you doing assessment/ Level 1 screening which shows how inflexible you are and give you tpi handicap. It highlight what issues it can cause in your swing.
After all that I received access to Titleist My TPI app on my phone where all the info was. You choosing how long sessions you want to do and how often.
I went for 30 minutes routines that I can do at home without any equipment.
Before I was suffering with bad back from playing too often and not using big muscles.
After almost 1 year it helped me a lot to change my swing / use big muscles. No Back pains even when I play 6/7 days a week and flexibility I gain gave me extra few mph.
Driver before was 102mph normal swing and 105 when I was swinging out of my shoes. Now I'm hovering around 108 and 115 when swinging really hard.
Difference is I'm not loosing my posture and using ground.
Guy I used is a chiropractor and certified Tpi instructor and that was main reason why I choose him over few tpi certified pga pros. I had a back problem that he understood and was knowledgeable to choose right training for me.

I can't recommend Fit For Golf enough. He's an Irish guy based in US who's a scratch golfer and fitness instructor. He has lots of content on Twitter and his mobile app which has multiple golf specific workouts covering mobility, strength and speed is about $9.99 a month. I've used it for years and it's well worth it in my opinion if you're committed to maintaining a program.

This, easy to follow and loads of choices, new version of the app out soon I believe.

It might be easy to follow but how would you know what you have to work on.
There is plenty workouts on titliest tpi website for free.
By going to specialist you can speed up the process and work on the areas you lacking most

What are the costs involved?

i am with Fit for Golf, but to adasko's question, i don't know what i should and shouldn't do - i'm after an expert's advice, for which i'm willing to pay, rather than doing a lot of the wrong stuff....

My daughter uses Zach Gould Golf. He has a great online app and he's super easy to communicate with personally via his messaging section of the app. It's a really good golf specific program and he's also an excellent golfer having played junior Ryder Cup with Rory

seeing expert will speed up the process, some of the stuff you already doing might not be what you need to do.
check if anyone near you is available https://www.mytpi.com/experts
there are 3 near me and 2 of them are pga pros. I called all of them and both pga pros was more in to incorporating tpi in to the lesson which I wasn't interested as I already had a coach for swing.

I don't think there is a lot of 'wrong stuff', certainly not on the Fit for Golf app.
If you have a specific limitation there may be an additional exercise that could help but you are hardly likely to do anything that would actively harm your golf or health following the app.

Look up “GolfSpecificFitness” a guy called Nick Scrutton, he is very good. Will do all the TPI screening and give you a programme designed for you.

I started a few weeks before baby#2 arrived and could tell the difference in both my golf and every day life. My fitness handicap went from 21 to 11 in the 4 weeks I was doing it before the baby came.
