Slaley Hall looks a fantastic course - one I'd love to play one day.

Isn;t it that one that's described as the English Augusta for its appearance?

Slaley nice but vastly overated for me and if it is membership you are looking at you will get only half the year without having to play with wellies on at Slaley.Might I suggest Westerhope,City of Newcastle,Newcastle United,or Northumberland in the City or Burgham Park 5 miles north of Morpeth which is fast turning into a good track, also Linden Hall same area but wellies needed for 6 months.

Paul,

I've played Hobson a good few times over the years, and to be honest it was ok.

The back 9 is a bit to easy in as much as it has somtehing 4 par 3's (I think).

It's always in decent nick, and there are a few nice holes on there, so it's definitely worth a look for membership.

Whilst I've never played it, I believe Beamish is better though around that area, although I have heard it's very hilly in parts.
