Glasgow Golf Club Fire

A bad fire at Glasgow Golf Club has apparently gutted the old clubhouse building last night. Alarm raised at 9:20pm.

It was a really beautiful building and would have been listed.

I guess it will be very difficult to replace or repair. Another fire in Glasgow, which has had an extremely bad run of fires in the past 16 months - the Pavillion Theatre, Glasgow School of Art and now the Golf Club.

Not sure. It seems very strange given that modern day electrical equipment should be much safer and there will be no smoking or ashtrays in these buildings any more.

Thats a real shame, not seen anything on the news about that. will have to give my mate John a call' he's just moved back to Glasgow and rejoined there.

It's a real rabbit warren of a clubhouse and must be a nightmare to fight a fire in it. Plenty of fire doors though.

I believe it started in the roof. Well according to the STV website.

I'd suggest electrical other than malicious although that is just a complete guess.
