Anyone had to replace one of these? If so, one of the ubiquitous Chinese copies or the genuine Garmin item? Always been slightly dubious about the copy leads but they do seem to address the issue with the Garmin ones and they are substantially cheaper.

Normally a cable is just a cable, it only carries low voltage 6-12 volts, it's the charger/ plug in that's the main bit. If the connections fit it should be ok.

not sure on the problem with your charger, this may help.

The spring broke, so the unit was in half. I just fastened the watch around a bottle of deodorant an squeezed the charger in. Works a treat.

Just done similar but with a sleeve of three balls, the flat surface making it much easier to position the clip with the pins on it she you strap the watch round it. Cheers mate!

Where were you Blue Peter types when my charger broke a few years back?

Seem to remember my wallet was lightened to the tune of £18 sovs shelling out for a new one - but at least I will know what to do next time it goes

On mine the bracket that the pin sits in has broken at the hole. Tried supergluing it tonight but have bitten the bullet and ordered the Garmin on the basis that it will be here by the weekend whereas the cheapie had a delivery date in the middle of September. At least I can charge it in the interim
