Garmin gps

I'm looking to get a handheld gps as I fear my s1 is close to kicking the bucket.

garmin is my device of choice, can get the g6 2nd hand for around 150. Or go new with the g8 for double the price.

has anyone upgraded? if so, what are the upgraded features and is it worth the outlay?

What id like is to keep handicaps for 4 people on it, do both or any have this feature?

I've got a Garmin G3 for sale in that section.

Only downside I found was having to take out the rechargeable for charging.

Simply found I didn't use it that much having a laser.

G8 would be illegal, even if your club accepts DMD's, as it has features that break the rules.

Yeah I saw it had slope information. Kind of silly unless they are expecting a rule change?

Are you able to turn off the slope function similar to the changing of face plate on the latest bushnell so you can have slope or not?

It has a couple of features that would render it illegal, slope and club selection being off my head. Can't believe a change would be passed to manufacturers in advance of it changing in next revision, which would still be a while off.

Haven't heard of anything being available to disable the features ... the laser being designed with different faceplates is showing some great initiative.
