Hi All

For the last 3 years, i've completed the Longest Golf Day in association with MacMillan.

This has been simple, as you contact MacMillan and then they send out sponsor forms etc.

This year, i want to do a fundraiser for the Childrens Ward in the Hospital where my Daughter has received treatment for the last 2 years. Judging on past Golf Days, we are not going to raise enough for a new machine of sorts, but i'm sure we can upgrade some of the toys/games as well as buy in some new books for the play rooms.

I dont want to step on macmillans toes, but i will continue the golf day theme for the fundraiser but possibly change it to a team event including match play etc.

My question to you good folks is.. do i have to register this event with anyone? I want to be sure that i'm doing everything legit? I guess i tell the hospital of my intentions. What should i do for sponsor forms (make my own?)

We used JustGiving last year which was great for online donations, but as far as i am aware they sent the money straight to macmillan for this, so would i do anything differently to then be able to purchase items for the hospital?

I had a quick scout online for info, but i know how knowledgeable this forum is...

I welcome your thoughts and Input,

David

I've raised money for a few different Charities. Firstly get in touch with the Hospital, they should be able to send you sponsor forms plus t-shirts, banners, balloons etc. They should already be on justgiving, so when you start your own page any funds donated will automatically be sent to the Hospital. I don't think you can withdraw money from Justgiving account to make your own purchases for the Hospital.

Ask the Hospital for an official letter stating you are raising money on their behalf, make copies and write to Football Clubs asking for signed items which you can raffle/auction, also take the letter around local businesses, most will donate an item to you
