Well, got my new Android phone the other day (Desire HD) and downloaded the GolfShot GPS app that others have mentioned here. I have to say that I was very impressed with having the distances at my fingertips for the first time.
Had a shot to the green on the 10th at Nairn Dunbar which I would have reckoned at ~90-100yds and GPS claimed 60 dead to the centre of the green so took out my 60degree wedge which should do that distance and dropped it just past the centre!
Was also very chuffed to measure a spectacular hybrid shot on the 16th (par 5) at 215yds before going on to par the hole.
Overall, went round in 98 as opposed to the usual 115 average I have, and that was including a couple of duff holes (including the 10th which I managed to five-putt at :S ) so I am really looking forward to using it on future rounds. The only downside being that I can't use it in comps as it's on the phone. Oh well...
