Just played a stablefird round this morning, perfect conditions, rained last night so greens were a bit more receptive and was on the back of a decent knock last night round a local course.

So what happens? I felt like I was chasing myself all the way round. Every hole was a real grind, and I truly felt like walking off. Only time I smiles was getting a par on the 15th (where I usually bogey or bolb) which I then backed up with my only blob. Struck my irons like a stick of rhubarb all day, and only a decent day with the putter saved me.

Came off scoring 34 points, which most days would make me reasonably happy, but then heard scores in the 43-45 region being banded about. Bloody hell!

Right, rant over!!!

What I wanted to know was is there a buffer if you shoot over your handicap? Effectively 2 over a 18.5 handicap - is than another .1?

Beer time.

:D :D

you get a shot per category for the buffer, so cat 1 players get a 1 shot buffer and so on, you should be in the buffer with your score so will stay where you are (as you buffer zone is 3 shots)

34 points and you are worried. I've been posting 27-30 with regularity and getting 0.1 back everytime. Some rounds have been harder to enjoy than others but its about the company and trying your hardest to accumulate as many points as you can even when you see the buffer disappearing in the rear view mirror

You're not supposed to play to your handicap regularly and 34 points is more than respectable (assuming SSS = par). If you're scoring 34 points while you're struggling you're h'cap is gonna fall real soon so don't worry about it.

That's the thing. The banter was good and the other lads played well and I was chuffed for them. I was just in a real @rse with myself cos it felt like all my hard work was a waste of time. tRying to get to 18 for the Trilby Tour in 5 weeks and it seems a mile away in that mirror!

Roll on next Sunday

That's the thing, on paper it's respectable, but christ it was awful out there!!!

Probably playing without a hangover didn't help :D
