I played in the rescheduled turkey trot scramble yesterday and after an iffy back nine started to hit the ball well on the back nine. I went to the range today as I couldn't play (seeing my mum after latest chemo) and had a great 2 hour session. I really felt I was getting more on top of the ball at impact and compressing down which is what I've been working on. The only downside is that I was pulling everything left of target (set off left and went straight along that line) and not sure if I was releasing to early (regular issue) or the ball was fractionally too far forward. It's frustrating as the quality of the strike seemed really good compared with the last few weeks and I feel as though I'm turning a corner after the long lay-off with the snow

I think I'll hit the range again midweek and try again. There was a point halfway through where it did really click and the shots were pure and straight. However as it was baltic in the wind I nipped in for a coffee and never really got back into that groove.

Homer, any chance that you might be closing the face, possibly even at addres?
I started the straight left shot after making some changes recently and it took me a while to realise that a closed face had crept in while I had been concentrating on other things.

Hit 100 at the range today and I was also plagued with this straight left or pulled left shot despite hitting it solid. I think you are probably right with the early release guess, I was checking my clubface alignment religiously and checking over the top swings or poor hip rotation and it was only when I starting slowing it right up and trying to hold off the clubhead release that I found better timing and ended up hitting it where I wanted direction wise and went away much happier. :)
1 degree c was ok as the range is well sheltered but it stops the ball flying far.
My only complaint about Kings Acre (apart from having only Pinnacle balls) is there are no flags between 119 and 157 yards when you're at the left or middle of the range, they should really have something around 130/140. The targets are really good though with defined greens, water, terrain etc.
