Why is it that you hit your two best drives of the day after hooking out of bounds or lost??
13th yesterday - big hook OB followed by a 282 yarder down the middle
18th - big hook lost followed by a 308 yarder!!!!
Sometimes this game sucks.
Oh and Fragger beat me by 2 points but I present my injured left hand in mitigation. At least I didn't lose 3 balls on the 17th.

I did,however, trip over a metal "All buggies this way" sign while trying to follow CVG's pushed drive leaving a nice scrape on my already dodgy knee!

Any victory is sweet, and its a good job i did blob the 17th otherwise my margin of victory would have been higher.

Actually i was pleased with my 35 points as in the last few rounds i have been struggling to scrape 25.

You think you're inconsistant ? I duffed my 9 degree driver 20 yards on our 5th (my only bad drive of the day) and out of frustration hit my next shot off the deck with the same club. the ball went around 250 and straight as an arrow. I mishit a tee'd up ball and then smack it from the fairway 20 seconds later ? now That's inconsistant. :o
 
Thats why were not on TV......and even they get it wrong sometimes..... :D :D

I turned today with 17 points ....Bombing along nicely....Blobbed 2 holes on the front also but was playing well.....
I stepped up on our 10th hit my tee shot OOB struggled for a point......Parred the next......Blobbed the 12th
bogey on 13, double bogey on 14 after going OOB again
On 15 i landed right at the foot of a tree and instead of taking a penalty drop i decided id try do a hoodini on it and got on my knees only to duff it twice.....Blobbed that hole also.....Parred our 16th par 5 bogied 17 par 3 and got a point from 18 after going OOB again off the tee.........


I finished with 28 points....Gutted
But i learned some valuable lessons..... and if i had takin at least 2 points a hole from the ones missed i would have been smiling with a 38........C'est la vie!
 
Model of consistancy yesterday over 4 rounds. I went 39, 34, 32 and 31 but played the last 6 holes level par gross in the first (starting at 4.30am) and last rounds (having played 36 consecutively).

It is my consistancy that has been the killer this year. I keep getting good patches but as soon as I play a competitive round it goes to pot and even social golf becomes a nightmare. I've cut right back on practicing now and what will be will be
 
81 gross on the 25th June. 102 gross on the 29th. Where in hell's name did that come from! Same course; same conditions. What a bloody stupid game this is.

Clubs yes but must think of something else to use

H/C 14.1 still rising
 
how on earth did you shoot 102 4 days after shooting 81,you must be gutted,the reason may be that since youve joined this forum,you think its wiser to bring yourself down to OUR level,dont worry about your handicap anyway mate,theres bigger numbers than 14.1 out there..just read on.no crying be upstanding and brace yourself

It wasn't my fault!!! IMurg is right he did hit fabulous drives, but only after a terrible one, maybe you should think about a new preshot routine.

He also failed to mention the misdirection by Phil the Fragger at the 14th, Imurg's view of his 3rd shot (after putting his drive in a hedge) was blocked, Phil told him it was way down on the left of the green, when in fact it was 20 yards short on the right...........nearly wet myself laughing!
By the way I managed 37 points and beat the pair of them, life is good!
