Fragger 37 : Imurg 27 Yes Its True

Played with little chubby Bro today, twas a really nice day, although very soggy underfoot

Havnt really played well for the last couple of months certainly nowhere my handicap, so it was pleasing to be 18 ; 12 up after 9 holes,

Imurg was playing like our mother although he did sneak a birdie in early on, but 3 blobs and a couple of lost balls on the front 9 didnt help him and his driving was way off

I was playing nice and steady, mostly Bogey golf, but with a fair few pars in there too, and the driving was good today

Id like to mention the 17th 500 yard down hill par 5, Imurg does his best drive of the day, real beauty, gentle draw, I decide to duck hook mine deep in the rain forest, so 3 off the tee, I hit a nice 4th shot to 135 yards from the flag, Imurg hits a loose 2nd shot to about 160 out. He then fluffs his 3rd to leave him just off the green.
Taking an 8 iron I execute this fantastic shot, straight at the flag, which pitches 12 inches from the hole, bounces up, hits the flagstick and ends up about 2 ft from the hole, huge bellow of delight and Fragger fist pumps ensue.

Imurg calmly strolls up, and chips in for a birdie, nicking all my thunder. GRRRRR
anyway I stroked my putt in for a 6 for 2, but a birdie with the second ball

Beat him for the first time in a while, bang on handicap and hoping to build on that over the new year

Cheeky man , go back 12 months and I got 2 shots on 5 holes.
I have an ambition to get under 15

It wouldn't surprise me if more than half the forum expect a 5 h/capper to be driving the ball perfectly every time thay play... Imurg, you're not allowed bad days off 5!!!

Do you know how stableford works? A pretty unnecessary dig! Should he not tell his story cos he's a mid high handicap? Should he not enjoy the win?

Well I played like a (insertexpletive).

But a couple of birdies and only 28 putts shows there's.something.going on ..
Fragger was very solid but stealing the thunder on 17 was worth getting stuffed for.

There is a reason us higher handicappers need the shots!! Im the highest in our 4 ball and have not won yet!

Handicap is what it is so we can all play this wonderful game together ...... as fairly as possible !!!

One played there or there abouts to his handicap whilst the other didn't..... no matter how high or low !!
