As the only Benross whore on the forum, I think they should be looking to find me a nice 4h and 52* wedge ( about the only things I need )

I'm also due a new Ping driver when I can eventually get it sorted, and I'm really looking to compare that with the cheapy cheapy Benross.

All aquired over the last 9 months, and very happy with it. I would happily look at more expensive alternatives if the numbers came in, but no reason to otherwise.

Driver - Benross VeloCT 10*

4W - Benross VT Xtreme 17*

3h - Benross VeloCT 20*

4h - Nickent somethingorother 23*

Irons 5-SW - Benross V6

Putter - Smiffy's old MD Superstrong Aladdin ( Cut down to 34" with a 'Yes' grip added )

Total cost - £270 for the Benross + £20 for the Nickent + I still owe Smiffy a pint for the putter ( even tho he refuses to play with me )

Now tell me the Mizunos and TM etc are worth the extra hundreds of £££.

:p

I know what Craphacker feels like with his Benross equipment, I feel something similar with my John Letters stuff.

I only used to play a dozen or so times a year and used to use my old father set of Red Eye Pings (yes I still have them in the loft) but I wanted to change as they were getting worn out. Because I wasn't playing a lot I couldn't justify spending loads so I bought the following from DG

3+5 John Letters T series Fairway Woods
(i dont use a driver any way) about 2 years

3-SW irons John Letters T9 about 2 years

Mizuno Flix hybrid about 3 years

Mizuno Bettinardi BC3 putter (bought at a GM sale at HO) about 16 mouths ago.

Since I bought the JL stuff I joined my first club about 18 months ago. I am quite happy with my gear but I will be looking to change in about a years time, except for the putter, I know many people dont like this putter but I love it.

Driver: Nike SQ Dymo 9.5 Stiff - 4 months - no plans to change

3 Wood: Adams Tight Lies 2 - 6 years - might change in the next year or so.

Irons (3-DW): Lynx Black Cat - 12 years - no plans to change until I get to a handicap of 10.

Lob: Nike SV 60/10 - 4 months - will stay in the bag until the grooves go.

Putter: Borrowed early 90's Wilson - 4 months - changing at Christmas (but only because I have to give it back!)

For club details see sig'.
In terms of age, and how long they will be kept:
Driver: approx 3 yrs old.
3 wood & resuce: approx 4 yrs old.
Irons: approx 4 yrs old.
Wedges: 1yr old.
Putter: 1yr old.

Currently all the clubs are good & work well (any problems are down to me & not the clubs).
Therefore I plan on keeping all of the clubs until they are worn out, lost or stolen, whichever comes first.
