for tomorrow's PowerPlay golfers...

Hope all those who are signed upo for the PPG event tomorrow are looking forward to it
You will get a full briefing on the format tomorrow but PPG pro-am veteran Jezz has written this handy in a nutshell guide..

Play is over nine holes using the Stableford scoring system.

There are two flags on each green – white and black - with the black flag usually, though not always, in a trickier spot.

You may opt for three black flag PowerPlays in the first eight holes, nominating them before your tee shot.

Nett birdies or better on PowerPlay holes earn double Stableford points.

You may go for an optional bonus PowerPlay on the 9th, but anything worse than nett par here scores minus three points.

I thought you had to play three power plays? Or you were d/q?

You do, the only optional one is the 9th, the others are mandatory.

Looking forward to it even if my game has decided its time for a well earned holiday. Will probably hit the range at some point in the afternoon to loosen the old bones up and think about the PP's once we ee which tees we are off and how I'm hitting it

Sounds fun, can you not take on 9 power plays? Can't see why you wouldn't unless your not allowed to.

Murph - just to clarify, that should say 'must go for three PowerPlays in the first 8 holes' rather than 'may' - my mistake and apologies for any confusion

See you there later on...

I'll have to work out my three powerplay options once I see the course guide. I reckon I'll skip trying on the first couple until I'm warmed up.

Looking forward to meeting everyone and a nice few holes later. I was hoping to get 9 holes in at my course before heading down but its closed for the seniors open so I'll have to just hope I'm hitting it well today instead.

Looking forward to it.

Had a nightmare last time I played a tougher course (Northampton County) and am hoping to put that behind me once and for all!

If not, I came out of that one stronger, so I'll try to come out of this one stronger. Still working out if I'll be even trying to reach the par 3!

After looking through with powerplays in mind, it's three from 1,4,6,8 for me. (No shot at 7 thanks to this weekend or it would be a no brainer).

Would like to take on 1 but will depend how my backside feels.

Feel there are some easier holes to take, but I'm a pretty short hitter and the par 4s are decent lengths.

9 will depend on whether I've already destroyed my card or not.

1,3,7,9 for me. I took 3 as it is where I get two shots and then picked the rest as the easiest SI`s as I get one on all of them from there in so it may as well be the straight forward ones.

I am all dressed and at my desk with my clubs behind me, come on 1 o`clock!!

HA HA!!!

Me too, waiting, waiting, waiting....!

Might try and steal 5 mins.

I was a dumb ass, my boss asked "what time you leaving Al" and I said "1 o`clock" why the hell did I not say 12.30!! :o
