For all fellow whisky lovers

Lophroaig or the macallan if I want something smooth

Love malts , head up to loch ness every couple of years on a boat that we hire , love tucking in to whisky and a pint with the loch keepers at St Augusta and the pub in Drumnadrochit

When I get me handicap down a malt and golf tour of the highlands is in the offing

hmmm...love Lagavulin. Their bog standard 16 year old is my favourite!

This used to be my occasional nightcap!

In Edinburgh, Golf, Fishers in the City, Malt Whiskey Society (individual cask bottlings), digs (walking across Leith Links between the last 2!) was bliss!

Royal Lochnagar favourite all-round one.

I never used to like them , persevered with them though , little drop of water and some serious flavours in there

Lophroaig is the best of the peaty Jobs , not that I've tried em all , still time though

+1

As said: with a drop of water, sip them slowly and you will start to get an acquired taste.

I also like a good Irish, Bushmills is nice. If a bit flush a bottle of Middletons is really something special.

A tad on the pricey side

Not impossible though

Funny story.

I had a bottle and a mate who likes his Whisky kept on to me to open it. I wanted to keep it for a special occasion. One night I came home after a stressful overseas business trip and decided to open it, it didn't last long after that and tasted fabulous.

Anyhow, I refilled it with Whisky from a bottle of Tesco's own and when he was over shared it with him without letting on. He said it was the best dram he had ever had
