Footjoys Question

I brought myself a cheapish pair of nike shoes when I started playing last year, they were ok. I then picked up a nice pair of Sturburt shoes during an AG sale that I've been waring most of this year.

The Sturburt's have been ok but I've noticed recently as I'm playing much more (2-3 rounds a week) that come Sunday my feet are quite sore with some blistering. Even if I double up on socks.

I've heard a lot of good things about the footjoys. I've looked at the site and there seem to be quite a few choices on available.

Are there any major differences, apart from price, between the various models ? Or is it really a case of get the most expensive you can afford ?

For me it looks like the Dry-Joys, although I've seen the SYNR-G at snainton golf for £99 which is tempting.

You can't go wrong with dryjoys really.

Dryjoys for me mate,just got a new pair! I've a pair of aql's ive had for 18 months so i'll wear those in winter and my new dryjoys now.Adidas make the smartest shoes in my opinion but cant touch footjoy for comfort.

I have 2 cheap pairs of shoes, FJ Greenjoys (the fake leather look plastic ones) and Hi-tek V Lite.

I can wear them all day and never suffer, but I did put some super thick sponge insoles in the FJs.

I think these things depend on luck.....some shoes are just right from day one.

It's hard to go wrong with FJs normaly.....

If I struggled I'd probably look at the "contour" series first.

I'm a FJ man through and through and currently receiving counselling for a MyJoy addiction. They really are great straight from the box. I like the dryjoy over the dryjoy PODS (the latter of which I've seen as low as £55).

I'm currently saving for a pair of the 20th anniversary edition dryjoys in white and and black. My winnings at RA will pay for one pair and HID will pay for the other (get well pressie for my op next month)

I would avoid classics if you suffer from blistering. I have 3 pairs, and yes, they are the best shoes money can buy, but, and it is a big but, they are not comfortable straight from the box.

I second that, i have two pairs of classics and both took a lot of wearing around the house followed by 1 hour practice sessions followed by a couple of 9 hole rounds before they were comfy, they are now like carpet slippers!!

My DryJoys were comfy straight out of the box.

I've had two pairs of AQL's which I have worn straight out of the box and I haven't had any problems whatsoever.

Also had a pair of adidas, cant remember the style, a couple of years ago and they were very comfotable.

Homer, I know what you mean about the MyJoys. I was playing with all the combo's last night, very addictive.

I might be tempted to go for some MyJoy DryJoys.

Am I right in thinking they're about £120 ?

Ive got 2 pairs of Classics Dry Premier's, and a pair of 360Ltd Adidas.

I have to say, the Adidas were like slippers straight out of the box, and still are, super super comfy.

However, whilst the Classics were a little stiff at first, and broke in gradually, they are superb, and very very comfy too.
More supportive, and more 'robust', but they look soooooo damn good, I only wear them in perfect dry conditions.

I'm sure the Dryjoys will be superb too, but those Pods look strange !

Hommer, when you mentioned DryJoy PODS I thought there may be a PODS and Non-PODS model, or were you referring to a previous years model that didn't have PODS ?

The PODS version Basically the one with the coloured piece on the side of the shoe) are now around the £55 mark and the dryjoy was around £99 (I got a deal through my pro and got my PODS - red/white and black with HOMER on - see my picture and a pair of back/blue dryjoys) for £175

I think the dryjoys are still the 08 model except for the 20th annivesary editions. Check out the FJ website to be certain though.
