Footjoy golf shoe failure!

Would you not expect golf shoe manufacturers to take this into account though?
As with a previous poster, mine also failed on the left shoe (I'm a right handed golfer) so there must be a trend there.
Failing that, are we to assume the shoes will only last a reasonable amount of time if you only play once a week in good weather?

In my case it is also the left shoe that has failed. I normally play golf about 3 to 4 times a week, plus an hour or two of practice.

I'm not surprised they have failed.

Work out the miles and hours you have used them for. My normal shoes barely last a year and I don't really use them only for light working etc.

(3.5 times a week x say 4 miles x say 46 playing weeks of the year = 644 miles plus, or hours say 3.5hours x 3.5 times a week x 46 weeks of the year = 564 hours of use or 3.5 times a week x 46 playing week s = 161 rounds of golf))

My callaway shoes have lasted longer :ears: but I only play probably 50-60 times a year, so need mine to last 3 years to last about the same about of time as yours.;)

Happy days carry on as you were.

I used to love footjoy shoes but had bad experiences with them recently. Bought a pair of Hydrolites and within a few months the sole had started to come away. They were sent back to Footjoy who gave a credit of £60 (I paid £80). I decided I would try again and got another pair of Hydorlites as they were very comfortable, but once again within a few months the same problem occurred.

Back to FJ they went and after spending £80 on each pair (£160 total), FJ said they had replaced this line of shoes so could only give a credit, and as they were used couldn't be the full £80. They credited me with £55.

So after spending £160 on 2 pairs of shoes I ultimately ended up with a credit of £115.

Not a great experience for me and ultimately means I am unlikely to go back to FJ shoes any time soon.

I never used to have problems with Footjoy shoes. They were/still are extremely comfortable, don't need breaking in, and once upon a time they were extremely durable as well. It's the latter point that seems to have gone down the tubes, so the quality must have gone down! :(

dont understand the fuss with fj. like wearing concrete bricks in comparison to whats on the market. heard nothing but bad things about people that do own them

To be fair, mine were super comfy, like slippers. Just a shame they weren't up to the task. For balance, my Nike Lunar Control 3 shoes are still in great condition a year on, they could pass as new if I could be bothered to clean them 😁

I played yesterday and got soaked. After 9 holes (my group was first out) the hooter went to suspend play as the greens were getting waterlogged.

My socks were soaking wet and the pro swapped my DNA's for some Dryjoy casuals (which I'd been eyeing up for a while). The DNAs were purchased from the pro shop in April so had only had 6 months play and had been looked after.

So credit to the proshop for changing without any quibble and he even threw in a pair of dry socks.

Dryjoys Casuals were very comfy straight uot of the box and stayed dry for the back 9 once we got back out. Front 9 in +5 and back 9 in +1 gave me a buffer zone finish in quite a big DUGC event.
