Macclesfield Town have been in the bottom two since August last year. Last nights incredible 3-2 win v Exeter finally lifted them out of that situation. It's not over yet. It's a three, limping nag race, four if you possibly include Crawly who haven't won in 5,to stay up. For the first time in ages, the entire team worked their socks off and deserved the win on effort alone. We dragged Exeter down to our level and then out ,run, chased and harried them, forcing them into mistakes. Exeter were all over us for the first half. Lord knows how we went in at 2-2. Second half they didn't get going and the place erupted, as much as 1588 can erupt, when our striker nodded in our third. It was an amazing night of football.

Wycombe could do with some of that spirit at the moment.

One of the ex wife’s cousins used to play for Macclesfield, Patrick Montgomery, think he is a talent scout now .

I used to go and watch WW when Martin O'neal was there. Very very difficult to do. We were worse than we are now and they we're awesome. But I was there v Wycombe when we needed a win on the last game to stay up. I was drunk when I went in, screamed myself hoarse for 90 minutes and had to walk back through the town in fuill MTFC kit taking abuse all the way back to The Marsh, where I went straight into my local and that's all I remember.
Very very happy days.

Is Sol doing a good job then? Huge challenge, taking on players way below his own level and trying to mould and improve them. So many top players struggle with that as they can't cope with the players being unable to do what to them is basic. Good luck to him.

The fans are split about him. We are hearing all sorts of stuff. Although in his defence there is an awful lot going on inside the club. The players, last night, were checking in with him regarding tactics. (I had a prime view as I was in the next dugout) so could hear what was being said. Massive effort last night. This has not been evident for a while now, but was there last night. Fingers crossed for Saturday.

On a slightly similar note, one of our consultants is an Orient fan and has been babbling all morning about them twice coming from behind to win and go top again. Three teams including Salford in with a shout of automatic promotion and he's getting very twitchy.

Was talking to some fellow MTFC ( Mansfield Town) fans when they played MTFC, ( Macclesfield Town). Anyway they said they were quite impressed with the football that MTFC ( Macclesfield Town) were trying to play. But wondered if the MTFC (Macclesfield Town) players were actually up to playing that kind of football. Said that MTFC ( Macclesfield Town) gave MTFC ( Mansfield Town) a good game.
PS, would be easier if you supported Crewe Alexander.

Funny ! Agreed with fellow MTFC (Mansfield Town) fans. Current players just are not up to the job, whereas the players that won the Conference (it will always be this to those of us who have spent time in there), could play footie and most cleared off to pastures new. The manager was lured to Shrewsbury and not given enough time and landed at Port Vale with enough time to rescue them from the Conference.

On a seperate note, it looks like my team Bradford are foooked. Soul destroying what has happened to the club in the last 2 years. Idiot German owner who thought he knew about football!!!

Sad init. We've got a bloke who, well there are loads of guesses about why he took us on and why he still holds on to us, just seems to do the absolute minimum to keep us going. There are staff and players not getting paid, volunteers giving up, who knows what his game is, but he's about £4 Million down, so can't see him walking away too soon.

Do you think they will stabilise next year or is there a danger of dropping again? Easy to do if a club is in a spiral.

Million dollar question!!

The money man who invested 75% is still here and 'seems' still very interested in sorting the mess his mate created. An old chairman is back helping out and we now have Gary Bowyer in charge, who, despite poor results seems the best fit for us.

I can't see us dropping again but I think it will take a hell of a lot for us to get back to where we were in May 2017 - play off final lose against Millwall.
