Following on from the Mario Balotelli thread, He has been charged with Violent conduct by the FA on the basis of video evidence.

At the time, the referee didnt penalise him , so the video evidence forms the basis of the charge.

If the FA can rely on the use of Video for this, then why cant they allow the use of video for goal line incidents.or to view suspect decisions, it happens in Tennis, Cricket and Rugby without problems

Seems they are picking and choosing

I think we should be told

Simples

The use of goaline technology and video replays needs to be sanctioned by Fifa as footballs governing body. The FA are in charge of the game at a national level and have the juridstiction to use video evidence to retrospectively punish offences missed by the referee or mentioned in their reports but not dealt with at the time

Don't I remember Blatter being interviewed on tv a few months back about this and basically talking for about 5 minutes but saying absolutely nothing.
Shouldn't really be surprised !

Football doesn't want the technology to interfere with the 'flow' of the game. If they allow goal line tech (which I believe they should) they are afraid it will be called upon to check offsides, pulls/pushes etc leading up the goal. I am a rugby and cricket fan and I love the video interventions.

i have no problem with video breaks during the game

Surely if players know they are going to be spotted and penalised. they wont commit the foul in the first place.
and it will be the end for dodgy offside decisions.

Bring it on I say
