Just been chatting in work about football club legends and those players that you used to idolise as they were the heart and soul of your club.........sad times in football as these 'club' legends seem to be no more......Money talks....

I'm talking about the likes of Bryan Robson, Tony Adams, Matt Le Tissier, Dalglish etc etc. The only 'current' legend's I can think of who still play in the Prem are Gerrard and Terry.

Anyone think of any others ???

RIP legends.

I can't think of any tbh mate.

When I was a kid my Favourite player was Steve Coppell. He wouldn't of been my favourite for long if someone would of told me at the time that he was a Scouser ;)

Money talks these days. Le Tisser admitted that he opulent if stayed if he played in this email? All the others had periods if success which will keep them at clubs. Would they be loyal to relegation battles year in?

Terry? Seriously?

In my opinion a legend needs to be a world class player and a role model.
John Terry is a very poor role model.

Very few footballers are examples these days?
Gives was hardly an example either?

Op did say club legend though so I'm sure fans of their respective clubs don't give a hoot about of field behaviour.

I did intend. God damn auto correct!

I think it is very difficult for players to be loyal to their clubs and their must only be a handful of examples at the top level of football.
Giggs, Terry, Lampard, Gerrard could potentially be considered good examples. Shay Given at Newcastle maybe? Shearer at Newcastle? Paolo Maldini?

George Best.....legend? Great player poor role model. Surely the prying media plays more of a part nowadays whereas back in the day footballers weren't hounded the way that they are today. If Giggs' affair hadn't got out would you call him a good role model? Is Scholes a good role model? He did keep himself out of the media.

How about Raul? He was class at Madrid and very loyal to the club. The fans absolutely loved him as well.

Gerrard and Carra are our most recent legends at Liverpool - they will be remembered alongside the best for us
