Took a half day off work yesterday to play 18 holes with my new irons. Some of you may remember I got custom fitted fro my first 'proper' set of irons to replace my Dunlop beginner set ones.

After waiting an age for them to arrive, I picked them up on Wednesday and was itching to give them a whack. Not even the fact the place I ordered them from, messed up my order (4 - PW instead of 5 - SW), could dampen my enthusiasm. I'd never buy anything from them ever again, but that's a different story.

Back to the course, what a difference! These irons are seriously good. There was really no comparison whatsoever with my old irons. They produce the height and accuracy my old irons could only dream of, although I do have to re-address my club selection now as they hit much, much longer.

Overall, I'm made up with them and they have already given me much more confidence in my iron play.

That is good news. Always a good moment in the golf career to step up from cheap to proper!
Just don't fall onto the slippery slope of expecting to do it again going from already good to "just-more-shiny". :)

You'll be OK with a 4 iron if you ask me....and most SW are replaced soon anyway, so it might not be all bad. :D :D

I'd prefer a 4-PW set and then look for a SW with the right bounce for the type of bunkers on my home course be that one with more bounce or not. There are lots of good and inexpensive SW's on the market now so you'll find something to suit
