Well i finally broke my duck after the 10th time of trying, Win a singles matchplay tie.

I had 4 shots on my opponent and before the game told myself to win these holes or at least dont give them away.

In my new positive thinking phase i found myself 3 up after 6 and flying, lost 8 and 9 due to wayward off the tee, so still one up at the turn

Back to 3 up after 13 and then lost the lot by 15, still two stroking holes to go.
My opponent drove into the trees on the first and i smashed one down the middle, he had to play out and then was just off the green in 3. i hit it a bit fat and ended up in the bunker at the front of the green splashed out to 4 feet and back to one, halved the next with a par and on to my last stroking hole.

Par 4 380 yards, drive into a valley and then leave around 160 yards, visualised the middle of the fairway and found it, was left with 163 to the pin, took out my 20 degree hybrid and hit one of the best shots i ever have, left it on the lower half of a two tier green (although you cant see the green let alone the top of the hill from the bottom of the valley.

Saw my opponents face drop as we both new it was a good shot, he hit his really fat and i knew it was over i had him.

Putted out for a par and was dormie.

17 is a par 3 - 155 yards all downhill, over OB and guarded by bunkers left and right.

I went long and opponent went short, i hit my first mistake all day, (hunter Mahan ryder cup chip) but just got onto the green, left with a 40 footer all downhill, opponent chipped to 15 feet past.

I just needed to lag it down and left it to two feet, he put his to two feet also.

I could feel the old nerves kicking in and the putt looked like a 15 footer, so i walked away from it and told myself i putt these all the time on the putting green and bam right in the middle won it 3 and 1

I was ecstatic (as you can tell)

Looks like i am playing the ex club captain in the next round and i cant wait.

Just wanted to share it with you all. :whoo:
