Business has picked up as expected, the Finance Director(HID) has agreed and tomorrow I'm off to join Aylesbury Park as a 5-dayer.

So playing friday as a member for the first time in a while.

I would put the website link up but the site's rubbish so don't bother. Me and CVG will be happy to show a few visitors round at a later date if anyone's interested.

Glad to hear you're a member again, it's surprising just how much you miss it.
I too have rejoined as a 9 hole 5 day member for the time being until my ankle has fully recovered then will upgrade to 7 day.
Hubby and I would love to come up to Aylesbury at some point to play as we are just up the road and you are most welcome to come an join us up at Banbury, only £15 a round at the moment.
The invitation is open to anyone interested.

Well the short game should get even better as they have a great par 3 course - longest hole about 95 yards - and I get to play it weekdays as part of the deal.

We also have a 9 hole par 3 course. TBH, I don't spend nearly as much time on it as I should. When I do get on it though, especially during the week when there's no-one else on it. I'll take three 'tee' shots and play them all until gimmie distance. Which ineveritably means a lot of walking! The greens aren't quite good enough for good putting practice though.

The problem is taking it seriously. All to easy to drop into the 'it doesn't matter' mindset. When in reality, it's one area where you can save a lot of shots!

The par 3 greens are of the same standard as the main course at APGC so its well worth the time spent.

Good news. Will you be able to get 7 day after a year or is it purely a financial decision and you'll stay as a 5 dayer

Purely Financial along with practical Homer. I could get 7-day but HID hours are changing soon and it means playing weekends will be a very rare occurrence.
As I get downtime between lessons I can keep clubs in the boot and go down and play just 9 if I don't have time for a full round. Or just use the par 3 course if the main course is busy.
