Fastest finger first. Booking tee times

When we have tee booking, which isn't often, it goes live at 8.06pm
This began during Covid as every club and it's brother seemed to set the opening time to 8pm
8.06 gave ti e for the rush to die down and meant easy access..
It's stayed at that time and works quite well.

Don’t know what it is but there’s got to be a better and easier way, it’s soul destroying.

Bring back a big book in the pro shop.

Certainly not one for us. People used to get to the club at 5.00 o'clock in the morning to try to be first in line for when the pro shop opened at 7.15.

As mentioned, we have BRS and there’s no way around it.

Saying that there was a fourball who always got the same tee time every week, without fail. There was a rumour that one of them had created an app that automatically booked the slot as soon as it opened. One weekend when I wasn’t trying to book a time, I still logged on and just watched. Sure enough, as soon as it opened they were in there. I took a screenshot and sent it to the club, but nothing was done, hard to prove I guess. A couple of them left not long after and so it’s not a problem now.

Many years ago on another golf forum one guy had a link to the software for BRS to get superfast booking in.

All of the complaints about tee booking is what we found during covid, and are the reasons why when a vote was taken to stay as we were or return to no tee booking we returned to no tee booking.
I don't know anyone who enjoyed trying to book a tee booking on the Sunday night at 6pm for the following Saturday.

Pre everyday booking when the club stopped using the proshop we had a ball shoot which the starter put out at 7.15. Players used to turn up at 5 in the morning to start a queue to get a ball in to the shoot, some used to work out roughly when they would be going out, co home and come back closer to the time they would be teeing off.

When we finally went to everyday booking there were quite a few complaints about and a few try messing it up by booking slots they did not intend to use. It did not take long for it all to settle down as players soon realised they were going out at roughly the same time as they had always done.

Booking online in general is a much more civilised process, get from the couch if needed, book and go back the couch.

It’s after the has been booked which ultimately is all that matters - it’s tough to go up to someone and say , you booked within 3 seconds you must be cheating etc
So there is a facilty to check times and whether the committee want to act on it is another matter .
It may well be a difficult conversation but one that should be had if enough members raise the issue.
As a club that prides its self on inclusion, which I heartly agree with, I'm suprised there seems an acceptance of a practice that disadvantages other members.
