Fast Twist system and Champ Tri Lok spikes

I have a pair of Footjoy Dryjoy shoes with Fast Twist fittings on the sole. The cleats that came with the shoe are Sopftspikes Cyclone obviously with Fast Twist threads. I recently purchased some Champ Lite Wate Tri Lok spikes that are compatible with the Fast Twist system as stated on the packaging. See this link:

Everywhere says these spikes are compatible with all Footjoy shoes after 1999 excluding Classics and Dry Premiere. I tried to fit the Champ spikes and really have to force them in, even when screwed as far as they can go, they still sit proud and can be forced out without the need for unscrewing, the teeth around the circumference of the thread itself seem to get rounded off too.

Has anybody else had an issue with Champ spikes and compatibility with the Fast Twist system? I'm assuming Fast Twist is the fitting on the shoe and each manufacturer makes a spike to fit with a standardised thread, ie Champ's being Tri Lok.

The shoes are new, I have taken the Cyclones out in favour of some metal spikes for winter. The only ones I can find that are supposed to be compatible are the Champ Lite Wate with Tri Lok.
