Faldo your evaluations?

I think if we sit back and take a look at what has happened over the past weekend we will realese that not one of our players played poorly, it was just a case of the guys that did loose were up against better players on the day.
I dont think that we can criticise any of the players or Faldo for the role that he played, the Americans were just a better team.
As much as it pains me to say this, well done USA you deserved your victory.

On a final note:- Ian Poulter-Top man

yes the better guys won on the day but so often too many of our guys were in the position of having to produce just to stand still. it would be interesting to see a comparison of 'projected' scores for each game.

Overall, Europe lost the Ryder Cup but Team Faldo doesn't appear to be accountable. He's now officially a knob and he did it all himself.

An official apology to Poulter - I for one didn't think he could stay on his game but he's proved so many people wrong. Well done. He's still a bit strange but really can play top notch golf.

Garcia did what I thought Poulter would do - act and play like a wally. Just what was he thinking on the 6th in the singles??

GMac was a revelation.

The rest of the team played very well but so many of them looked uninspired, IMHO. They were beaten by a better players on the day and the 13th man really counted for something. Everyone I've spoken to is relieved that Faldo is beat and the USofA didn't lose. General concensus is they would have picked up their ball and gone home for good. Seems almost 'unpatriotic' but it's true; as a Europe supporter I was hugely disappointed but for the players, not Faldo.

Just how insufferable would Faldo have been were he (notice 'he' and not Europe) to have won? Next time they should pick the bloke all the players like and believe in. Also, what about using the same selection process next time as Azinger used this time round?

he gave it everything he had which he thought would aid the european team and that is all you can ask of a captain. I think the american determination was an underlying factor in their victory and perhaps a sense of over confidence bordering cockiness from the Europeans also contributed to their downfall. I don't think Faldo was outwitted by his opposite number, it just came down to who played the better golf. There is only ever so much a captain can do without a club in his hand so therefore it would be wrong to criticise him, even if some pairings/ ordering decisions were questionable. It was a valiant effort from Faldo which just wasn't good enough at the end of the day.

A Tw*t of the highest order. He made mistakes from his opening speech to the singles line up.

We were 2 pts behind going into the singles and needed to get blue on the board early to quieten the crowd, we needed a strong minded individual to lead off, everyone knows Garcia is not the strongest mentally and was not firing on all clyinders so it was a mistake to put Garcia out first.

The result in all probabilty would not be different but he did not give our lads a real chance to win.
