Fairway Wood - Steel Or Graphite Shaft???

I wouldn't go back to steel now. I need the distance.

I'm surprised not more manufacturers offer steel, especially in hybrids and 5/7 woods.

Going back a few years steel seemed preferable but with the advancement of graphite shaft technology and such a wide range of options the choice when buying new seems more graphite or graphite?!

I'm thinking about going back to my old 3 wood with a steel shaft over the new 910 I bought recently.

Seems to be more consistent for me, especially off the tee.

Generall opinion is that steel is shorter but more accurate.

I've got graphite in the woods (stiff), but superlight steel in my hybrid. The hybrid's head is really heavy, so needed a light shaft, but wanted more accuracy hence superlight steel.

why the surprise? if you wouldn't o back it's a fair bet that many wouldn't - and the manufacturer's deliver to wants not needs.

I have a steel shaft in my 16 degree hybrid. Chose it as it gives me a lower flight, and I wanted an alternative to my 2 iron.

Agreed. No doubt.

I just reckon there are players out there who might like the choice.

Then again, there's money in the graphite revolution. :)
