It has been a long time since I have been excited to play golf. Through the end part of the season up until all engagements on a Saturday stopped me, I was just turning up to not let my my PP's down. I broke a 5 week sabbatical from golf last Sunday, and I have got the bug back.

Front 9 was truly awful. 55 shots, with a 10 and 2 and 8's on my card. The back 9 42 which is 6 over for the back 9. I know I can play better than the 55 on the front, I am putting it down to not having swung a club for 5 weeks and being rusty.

My record at my home course is 89 (par 70). After the back 9 on Sunday, I am sure I can blitz that this winter, and be brimming with confidence come the new season.

Either that or golf being fickle I will be looking to sell my gear come April next year.

Always looking forward to playing. Haven't played much in the last few weeks and practiced barely at all (rare for me) so playing a medal on Saturday with no notion of doing well. See how it goes and enjoy the company

Not playing at the week end but I'm on holiday next week while the missus is at work and the little'un is at nursery so I'll be playing every day 18 or 27 holes - now that I am looking forward to

Just stuck my name down for medal on Sunday. Well let's see. I forgot we split our monthly Sat and Sun medals over subsequent weekends - so whilst I can't really play morning of both Sat and Sun of a weekend - I can do a Sat one weekend and the Sun of the next. And so I have a second bite at the 'Single Figures in 2015' cherry.

One and a half rounds since the football season started :(

So why am I thinking that the price on a SLDR driver is now down to sensible levels  - thinking of going for a hit of the various lofts at the range tomorrow and trying to get out for a round on Sunday afternoon

I'm playing in a winter knock out cup on Saturday, quite excited actually. Never played in one of those before, wish it was matchplay, but I think it's stroke play/medal, lowest shots after handicap. Although, I'm striking better, but have now got a slice back in my drives ahhhh. Driving range tonight, see if I can figure out what I've done.

sausage sandwiches, Hayling and good company - just need the weather for a perfect Saturday - another win over Gordon would just be the icing!! :D:swing:

First week of my sabbatical. As with the op I have been playing recently to hold up my end of commitments. Actually looking forward to a lie in, watching a lot of rugby and having a few beers

Medal tomorrow. Can't say I'm looking forward to it on current form but he who dares? Weather not looking too rosy. Sunday and the roll up looks better. Still better than being dragged around Sainsbury's
