Ever wanted to quit the country you live in?

Just a pathetic state of affairs all round then the interviews last night, they couldnt have picked a worse bunch of people, saying that, if people dont turn up to vote, have they got a right to riot when things go the wrong way?
I want to move to Singapore, gets dark at 8pm, bright at 8am, different cultures all living together and a no messing about government.
Golf courses are fantastic too, damn expensive though.

I would move in a minute hate this crap weather, wife won't move tho would love a move to Oz or the States, to be honest i'd retire to Portstewart i love the place that much.

Only thing that keeps me here is the cheap golf membership, haha

The UK has bene on a downward spiral for years and it's only going to get worse as long as we have spinless politicians in government.

That said to answer the thread me and the other half would move to Canada tomorrow, but we have my daughter to think about, my mam's not to good and I wouldn't leave my dad on his own.

To quote a conversation my dad and his sadly deaprted brother had:

Dad " We live in a stupid country"
Uncle "No, we live a wonderful country, it's just run by stupid people"

One of the cleanest cities on the planet. Great place to be.

Exactly, we were able to go out and walk our daughters about the financial and residential districts at silly oclock to get them tired, never once came across anyone less than friendly. We got stopped a couple of dozen times and asked to take their pictures with our kids, first time it happened we were really on the defensive but it turns out they simply adore children and I think Caucasian children are seen as rare/special over there too.

I remember being somewhere touristy in Scotland and a bus load of Chinese folk just wanted to take pictures of [and with] my wee blonde grand-daughter. Felt kind of awkward but when I spoke to my nephew who lives in Hong Kong he explained it as above.

Hong Kong for me. Was there last year, love the place.

Kualur Lumpur is a nice place too.

I lived in the States for 3 years when I was younger.Great place, and would move there again,or Canada and Australia, but the missus won't go while her parents are living. I'm sick and tired of this country and and govenments that help create rip off Britain. The weather's awful too.

Left Tyrone in the 70s, love visiting but would never go back for good, i just love Manchester but come retirement I,m heading south again, France has its problems but just love it. Canada/Quebec would be attractive if you can stand minus temperatures all winter, I have family there who all head to Florida for the winter.

Looked seriously at New Zealand before the birth of our second child. If I'm being honest I don't think I could do it now.

Sometimes I look back and wonder what if.

My missus would move to Scotland tomorrow, I would consider it if there was a good improvement in the weather, but can't see that happening soon.

I would be off in a heartbeat. Sick of pretty much everything down south. Only golf on a Sunday lets me escape the daily dross!

Alas my kids are settled so it wont happen but once they are adults I am seriously thinking of moving back oop north to Cumbria, plenty of decent courses up there aswell and cheap as chips :D
