Another vote for Thorpeness - food is excellent afterwards as well
Woodbridge pricier, but excellent course
Felixstowe - outstanding views over the Deben estuary and the North Sea and to have a pint afterwards is special - very welcoming too!
Others you might consider as cheaper as an extra 18 for the day are Seckford and Ufford Park all based in Woodbridge so shortening your drive but not quite up there with the above.

Ipswich Golf Club , known locally as Purdis Heath, is a very good heathland course. Played it a week or so ago.
