Equality.....?

Equality I don’t think it exists.
There’s always someone who thinks they know better.
They look at the backstory to much instead of the offence.
Next time she may kill someone , then they will take her licence away ,but that’s to late imo ,it should be taken now until she can prove she’s dry.
Very surprised with a Judge though.

Hopefully. The woman has supposedly been dry since the offence so perhaps jail would be a bad thing as far as sorting her life out but her licence should be ripped up forever and she should be doing some serious community service

She was already banned from driving when she was caught. Don't think ripping her licence up will make much difference.

I wonder if the female judge would have been so lenient if the offender had been make? Just saying...

Serial offender, and caught whilst banned. Custodial sentence please.

Didn’t it say in the Article (it did on the bbc) that the judge said if you had been male you would be walking down the stairs to jai

had a good example of equality today at the GC. Mens Medal (not drawn) day, tee booked up all day, but there is a half hour slot for people of don't have a PP at 9am no ladies comp on. lady turns up and demands to be able to play in this slot, not busy only 6 guys turned up so the starter let her out.

No way would this happen the other way round when the ladies have an hour and a half tee time on the days when their medals on of which there are plenty of Sat Comps, despite only getting half dozen entrants, they also get Tues and Thurs blocked times. Which they never fill and complain if guys go out during there slots even if no one is using the times.

There are no Saturday when ladies can't play but at least 3 days when men can't as they are ladies comp days;)

So if said woman works full time and can only play on a Saturday? This is the case of course for lots of men who work but they're never "banned" from the course all day?

no one was banned she could play at any time that day, she insisted in going out in mens roll up for a mens medal, something a man could not do or would be allowed to during the womens times, as explained. there is no day when women cannot play at my club but there are several ladies days, men could not play those day as the ladies have the course for the whole day

Me i think i would Make a point to turn up and insist i go out when the ladies have the course and there’s available tee times. Whats good for the goose etc.
That aside re the op. Am all for re education and that. But a third time. Am sorry but the woman should be doing a custodial for three months or whatever. She could do cold turkey at the same time. The Judge, the one who sits on the high horse giving out opinions to drink drivers should be sacked. The law is the law. She is not up there to pick and choose who she fancies sending down this week.

I thought it was a men's medal and tee booked all day?

So her only option to play that day would have been that half hour slot? Or am I reading that wrong?

yes you are, not booked all day because it was a mens comp booked all day as single tee times for men a women all taken, she didn't play in a medal as there was not one this weekend , and guys can't just play in it unless its in the comp, its for people who have no one to play with in the medal so the club puts aside a half hour slot. if i guys turned up and tried to do this he would be told where to go esp on the ladies medal day

it can be difficult, Saturday is reserved upto 3.30 at our place for the mens comp, we can go out 30mins after the last entrant, on a regular basis the tee times will be full up to 12.30 or 1pm then a big gap but there is always a group out at 3.30, so quite often there are empty tee times in the afternoon that cannot be used.
On Thursdays the ladies have 90mins reserved both in the morning and the afternoon but I always check the day before and release empty slots so the men can use them

Lou. I understand men having most of the sat morning re most clubs having male members but how comes clubs don't slip in an hour/ 30 min slot for women on a sat morning.

We had a reserve list of Twelve men who never got a tee time in the men’s comp sat.
Leaving a half hour for ladies is not practical.
The men can’t play in between the ladies in their comp.
We do have mixed medals every other week on Saturday but I would say only a handful of women ever play.
Men outnumber ladies about 8 to 1 so they will always be seen as under represented but they do play a very prominent role in the club .
Most do understand the sat comp situation and I can’t remember any complaints about equality.

If there’s empty tee times they should be used no matter the gender of the member.

Mixed comps....it's the future. :D

this wouldn't work at ours, this lady is in the Minority. in fact the ladies roll ups and pre booked times currently allow a half hour gap behind them ( they wanted an Hour), so they don't want guys behind them let alone play with them.... even their Husbands;)
