England v Scotland Video...... & Match Report from Goswick

Can I say a wee word?

Now.... I gave a spare video camera to my other team mates both days in the hope that they might get some decent footage of matches other than my own for a change. They shall remain nameless but "cameraman number 1" managed to take most of his footage the wrong way up and "cameraman number 2" seems to think it was a good idea to press the stop recording button halfway down the backswing. A case of premature de-activation. Honestly. Here's me trying to be nice this year, too.

:p

Seriously. What a cracking couple of days.

Many thanks to Chris661 & Fraser for teaming up with me. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of your company, gents. How could I not? Couldn't have asked for better.

Murph and Tincup? What can I say? Chris and I pick-pocketed you on day 1 with that win on the last but, gentlemen that you are, you took it graciously. My partner and I had done nothing for the front nine and when you were 3 up after 10 we thought the game was a bogie. But Scottish Chris gets a cracking net birdie at 11, bags another birdie (net eagle) on 14 and I then throw in birdies at 15 and 18. We only played 5 holes well...!! Lads, you know I thoroughly enjoyed my time with you.

And I'm glad I got to play against you again on day 2, Murph, to allow you to wreak your revenge, this time in ClayportF1's company. Jon and Chris, well done on the well deserved win and for the fine company throughout. Murph, you're a diamond geezer and a fine golfer. I've got more footage of day 1 that I'll upload some other time. You were both far too strong for Fraser and I on day 2 but the banter was great.

Personal highlights of the trip, apart from the company, of course. Well, driving the green on the 18th to secure that birdie and the win was fun. Birdied the 15th and 18th both days too. And catching the "miracle on 18" from Grumpyjock was cool.

At the end of the day it was that first day lead of 7 -1 that made for a comfortable win in the end, although there were a few nervous Scots on day 2 when everyone was down in their games and we considered the unthinkable 8-0 comeback. But the troops rallied through. Well done everyone.

How could I forget?

Well done to Ayrhead for his individual win on day 2 as well. 38 point stableford off a 3 handicap? 18 out, 20 back to pip IM01 on better inward half (19,19) off a 1 handicap. That's real golf, boys. Well played.

And to Owen T for his long, long, long drive win. We all hit crackers on that hole and you were 60 yards ahead of us. Once you get that hook sorted out, Owen, you'll be hitting it TimGolfy long. Just as well you have a short game! And well done for beating another star of the show.....PhilThe Scouser. We really need to get a petition together to get him on here.

:D

Was that "long drive" on 16?

If so I picked up the "GM Forum Ryder Cup Longest Drive" marker on Saturday morning as I advanced toward my drive which was 30 yards further ahead........

Peashooter.:p
