Can anyone explain to me how Emile Heskey is still playing premier league football. Surely Villa have better youngsters that could play.

I thought he was great at Leicester especially the £12m Liverpool paid us for him!

he was good for us, that's true, but he did go down easy and yes, thanks to Liverpool for that money! Not that it did us any good, very much like now...we have money, spent money but still crap!

There are loads of players in the Premier League who really shouldn't be there. Michael Owen. He's years past his best - his pace has gone - and yet he still gets a game for Man U - and the salary to match. John Terry is on the way down but Chelsea would never dream of dropping him. There has also been Andy Cole - brilliant at Newcastle - wasteful at Man U and for England.
All of them continue/d to get a game because of past form/glories. Whatever happened to the old saying 'you're only as good as your last game'?
It must really annoy the young players and the players in the lower leagues who'll not get a look in because of some ancient fossil continuing to get an undeserved place in the starting XI.
It never happens at Selhurst Park though.........

Funny though, many of the England forwards, Rooney and Owen as far as I recall, loved to play with him. He did tie up defenders and battled hard and they benefitted from him being a target man. I saw him make his England debut v Argentina and he got man of the match which was a travesty as Beckham was head and shoulders better than the rest put together

Never enjoyed watching Heskey, and cannot find a reason as to why Villa still play him.
The trouble with Heskey is that he has never looked bothered. If he wasn't getting any service he never seemed willing to make a run and find some space and expected everything delivered onto his head. Of all the target men around, and there ain't many anymore, Crouch is probably the best. He gets goals (quite a decent England ratio) and does seem to be willing to make a run and take defenders away.

Heskey is a Donkey and always has been. Villa need to get rid of him and bring in someone else. Will be very hard for them with Gabby and Bent out.

Being a Villa fan I always wondered what he was doing! But my main concern is what Randy Learner is doing! Long long season in store. I am going to the Arsenal match on Wednesday. Glutton for punishment!

They would, he made them look good.
In the league teams don't bother marking him now, as they know he will either fall over, or shoot into row Z.

I went today, I can't remember the last time a Villa v Liverpool game wasn't a sell out.I know its the last Sunday before xmas, but surprised at that. Are you really playing that poor?
I know you weren't great today, but still think you'll finish 8-10th. Can we swap Bent for Carroll??

He's been on a gradual decline since about 2001. He's reached new levels of in the last year. Truly awful striker and player. How he gets a game for a decent club like Villa is laughable!

Totaly agree, infact I would rate him as the worst player in the Premier league. He's like an old Darren Bent.

Very few Villa games sell out in all honestly. I really don't know what is going wrong but there is something not quite right.
Bent will be the next one eying a move away.
